Christian Parmentier, chairman, Belgian Fur Federation

Christian Parmentier graduated in 1983 as a veterinarian at the University of Ghent in Belgium. He joined the family business of his parents who were active in the fur sector, with their own workplace and two fur shops. His grandparents had a fur farm, but this activity was not continued by his parents. In 1996, he published his first book, The Animal and His Human Rights, the first Dutch-language book with a critical analysis of the phenomenon of animal rights. In 2003, he published his second book, A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing – A Critical Look at Animal Rights. As of 2022, he is chairman of the Belgian Fur Federation.
