The real point of this sad story from Norway is that the system works.  The problems on this farm were found during routine government inspections; the Norwegian mink farmers association immediately called in the police. Injured animals were euthanized and the farmer’s association membership and farm certification were revoked.  Animal welfare is a top priority for mink farmers in Europe, as it is here in North America.  You can read the press release issued by the Norwegian Fur Breeders Association here:
