Fur Family Album Submission Requirements

“Truth about Fur” shows real trappers, like Tanya Lynn Strong (about to set a beaver trap) pursuing their passion with full knowledge that they are on the frontline of wildlife and habitat conservation. They don’t need lessons about respecting nature from urban activists. Photo: Serge Lariviere.

The Fur Family Album is a new project from the team behind Truth About Fur. Our goal is to collect and share the photos that represent the people, stories, and traditions of the fur industry. We are looking for your new and old trapping photos, from last week or fifty years ago. Let’s share the story of this great industry and the wonderful people behind it.

We are collecting images for our albums on Facebook and Pinterest, and will also be making select images available on our website, www.truthaboutfur.com. Your images will also be made available for legitimate usage by others, such as the media (see “Licensing” below).

Requirements for submissions

Format: .jpeg / .jpg or .png

File size: 1 MB to 4 MB per photo. This is larger than anything we would use on the web, but it gives the option of using your photos in print work (magazines, calendars, etc.).

Description: Please tell us the story behind the photo. There’s no word limit on this, but 50 words should be enough for most. Make sure to include when and where the photo was taken, and the name of the author (photographer).

How to submit

Send photos as email attachments to info@truthaboutfur.com. If you are using this link, the subject title “Fur Family Album” is automatically generated; otherwise please fill it in.

If sending photos as individual files, send no more than three per email. If submitting multiple photos, you may also compress them into one file using DropZip or a similar application up to a max. of 10 MB per compressed file.

Alternatively, feel free to use Dropbox and email us the link.
